I am speechless, stunned and deeply saddened.
Today, Earth is a little less bright.

I have adored the mastery that is Robin Williams body of work since I was a small child. He was a precious light of acting and comedic brilliance in a world that is often shadowed in trouble. I am not ashamed to say I have suffered from depression and being able to watch Robin’s work often brought a smile to my face.

He was a great gift to this world, much like the real Patch Adams, Robin’s gift to the world was laughter and joy. In my mind his amazing talent has no equal, he was the master. To paraphrase Shakespeare – Robin William’s was the stage [the lights, the whole theatre really] and all of us merely players.

He may have left us too soon, but his legend will live on.
What was your favourite piece of Robin’s work?

He will truly be missed, for all the joys he brought everyone 😦

He certainly will, but he will always be cherished 🙂

Too, too sad! Such a great body of work. “Good Will Hunting”, “Dead Poet’s Society” and “Mrs Doubtfire” are just the top 3 that spring to mind.

“Dead Poets Society” is one of my favourite films of all time! To be honest I cannot think of a film or show he was in that I did not like. He was scary talented and he is a huge loss to the world!

Mrs Doubtfire would have to be one of my favourites. I still cannot believe it. I only found out at school, where I couldn’t go on my phone to check if this was true. I was absolutely shocked when I got on to the internet to check, as in my mind, this couldn’t possibly be true. He will be dearly missed.

I felt the same way! I heard it on the radio this morning, I called my Husband to get him to research to see if it was true. So, so sad!
Love Mrs Doubtfire!! They were talking about doing a number 2 😦

Yes I had heard talk of this! Sigh. The world will never be the same. And apparently a suicide too? It makes me so sad that someone so great (or any human in fact) has felt the need to take their own life.

It’s horrible to think that someone so loved by many could feel so lonely.

What a terrible tragedy! My favorites are Hook, Dead Poet’s Society, Mrs. Doubtfire, Good Will Hunting….
August 12th, 2014 at 2:20 pm
That’s a great list! I haven’t actually seen Good Will Hunting. I kept meaning to, but never got around to it. Will have to see if my Dad has it.

Also Good Morning Vietnam Nam. I was just telling my son that we needed to watch it.
August 12th, 2014 at 2:31 pm
LOVE Good Morning Vietnam!!! I think that was one of the first films I saw him in as a kid (not that I was supposed to be watching it at the time hahaha).
August 12th, 2014 at 8:17 pm
Ah I still can’t quite believe it. He was such a legend.
August 13th, 2014 at 1:43 pm
I know, I didn’t believe it when I heard it on the radio. Started researching for proof of lies as soon as I got my hands on a computer. I hope he knew how many lives he touched.

I know, I have loved every movie I have seen of his. Even the creepy ones like One hour photo! I feel the world is less bright without his presence.

I am still stunned by his death…so many films to chose from…”Dead Poets Society,” “Mrs. Doubtfire,” and “Good Morning Vietnam” are my favs!

Me too, honestly I think I am kinda in denial. I adore all of those films, I also love Aladdin and What Dreams May Come. I know lots of people hate WDMC, but I thought it was beautiful.
August 20th, 2014 at 11:18 pm
WDMC was gorgeous! And how can I forget Aladdin!

Aladdin was amazing. I am glad to have found a fellow lover of WDMC! I think people disliked it because they went thinking it would be a comedy or something. It definitely makes my favourites list 🙂 So much of his work to love, there is so much that I haven’t even seen!
